An excellent way to keep your lungs healthy is by eating a healthy diet. While eating a nutritious diet, it’s beneficial to know what foods will help your lungs specifically.
Presenting The lung healthy juice recipe. Every single ingredient will help your lungs in one way or another! I’ve included the benefits next to each ingredient.
Love Your Lungs Juice
-2 Medium Carrots (Vitamin E)
These roots are rich in vitamin E, vitamin C, and lycopene, all antioxidants that affect lung health and lower the chances of developing lung disease.
-2 Cups Chopped Kale (Powerful Antioxidant)
-2 Cucumbers (Antioxidant)
-2 Inch Ginger Root (Anti-inflammatory)
This spice has anti-inflammatory properties and promotes the elimination of pollutants from the lungs. Ginger has a ton of benefits not just for the lungs but for the rest of the body too. Ginger can help to decongest and unclog air passages helping to boost lung health and improve breathing.
-1 TBSP Lemon Juice (acid helps breaks up mucus)
-1 Green Apple (Antioxidant)
Apple intake has also been linked to a lower risk of asthma and lung issues
This may be due to the high concentration of antioxidants in apples, including flavonoids and vitamin C.
-4 oz Pomegranate Juice (Antioxidant)
-4 Cups Romaine Lettuce (High in minerals)
-1 TBSP Raw Local Honey (Anti-Inflammatory, Breaks up Mucus)
-Stevia to Taste
Antioxidants are important because they protect and repair your lungs from damaged lung tissue and can also aid in red blood cell formation, which increases oxygen in the blood.
Anti-Inflammatories should be consumed daily because they help control inflammation in the bronchial tubes. Inflammation can cause airway narrowing and increased mucus production.
As you can see, this juice packs a punch for lung health! Enjoy blended with ice or blended and then poured over ice!
