Did you ever hear about Mullein tea before? And are you aware that it is a special kind of tea that offers numerous health benefits? Also known as Candlewick plant and flannel leaf, this tea was used by the Greeks in the ancient times for healing cold, and also as an astringent and sedative.
Would you like to know how to prepare this magical tea at home and the amazing benefits it offers? Then sit back and read on!
MULLEIN – A BRIEF
The Mullein plant is native to Europe, but later made way to the USA. In the USA, it is more of an invasive weed. It grows rapidly in abandoned fields and highway sides. Mullein tea is made from the yellow flowers of this plant. However, there are a few variants, and their flower colours can be purple and reddish. The plants can be six feet in height, and the aroma is similar to that of honey. It is also interesting to note that several alcoholic beverages contain mullein.
LUNG-HEALING MULLEIN TEA
Mullein is my absolute favorite when it comes to all things lung related. This gentle herb seems to focus its energy in a very effective way in the lungs, and it gets to work fast!
Mullein helps remove any 'gunk' from with the lungs via its gentle yet thorough expectorant abilities. It helps the lungs purge themselves of mucous and phlegm that have taken their fill of toxins, pollutants, and foreign matter so that it can be given healthy replacements.
Like many herbs used in herbal tea, mullein has natural mucilage which soothes, coats, and protects the respiratory system from the mouth to the lungs.
In many cases, recurring lung issues are wrapped up in an inflammation cycle. Mullein is a gentle anti-inflammatory that focuses on the lungs, so it can help reduce inflammation in the various passages and tissues in the lungs giving way to healing and easier breathing.
Mullein has been traditionally as a tonic tea by people with asthma, COPD, emphysema, bronchitis, inflammation, respiratory allergies, recurring congestion, smoker's cough, exercise-induced lung strain, and anxiety-related breathing issues.
Mullein is calming, soothing, comforting, and very grounding. The tea on its own is actually very pleasant for those who like an 'earthy' taste in their tea. When combined with herbs that have stronger flavor profiles, the flavor of mullein will usually be lost.
Mullein tea benefits are surplus, let’s have a look at the major ones here:

this helped greatly to save a colt from Strangles many years ago!!!
This tea is good and I drink every day. I told my sister about this tea and sent her a bag, She talked to her doctor before drinking it. It has helped her tremendously. Her doctor is now recommending his patients to use it if they can tolerate it. It's a win-win for anyone with respiratory issues.
I drink it everyday. Great stuff
This stuff is very good, I bought it and I am so glad I did. It really works!!

I have asthma. When I get a cold it always ravages my lungs. I casually bought this tea but had no idea how truly effective it would be. I used it with my last cold and it helped greatly as an expectorant, inflammation soother and actually calmed the cough. I still cant believe it.
I love it I will never stop using it and I will tell others how wonderful this tea is for your lungs it really works, my lungs feel so much better, try it you will be happy you did.

have tHis tes first thing in the morning and I think it helps time will tell I have only been doing this for 5 days
Works good for chest congestion
Ordered this to make tea due to a cold that left me with a nagging, dry cough. It truly did help sooth my throat. The leaves seemed clean - not many stems. Good quality! This is a huge bag and will last quite a while!
Making tea with this bulk Mullein Leaf seems to help my pulmonary issues. Directions for making tea are on the bag.
Ordered for the various health benefits namely for my grandsons respiratory issues and earache. It is great for making homemade earache relief and I can definitely say it worked as I hoped. Earache gone and his breathing is extremely improved when he leaves after the weekend. Plus, the amount in the package is HUGE. Great value for this amount of herb. Definitely recommended.
Would not recommend buying this particular mullein for smoking, as it is very fine shred.
***Very effective stuff to help treat my asthma. (for ME, everyone is individual, but adding this into MY therapy has been a true Godsend. It plays really well boosting MY current pharmecutical medications that couldn't quite do the job... Helps less do more (for me). Am sorry I didn't take the advice to try it many years ago.
Bought it to help keep my lungs clean.. and now it’s in my night time tea when I can’t sleep! It will knock you out if you need help
Excellent for any lung irritation or sickness.
I have COPD and my grandson has asthma. This tea quiets coughs like a charm. I add honey and bergamot and it tastes delicious.
